A:  Hello Kells and thank you for your question. Yes you are correct this is just an inner shell. Typically unit like this its framed in and walls get finished with tile type of product. Also this product is designed for a drop-in installation only. It is not suited for use in a three-wall alcove with an overhead shower. Hope this helps.
