A: Hi Mary, this is Lisa with Kohler Co. I am happy to respond to your question. Our Kohler faucet finishes resist corrosion and tarnishing. Water spots could occur depending on water quality and Care & Cleaning practices. We recommend using our Kohler Faucet Cleaner for routine cleaning - https://bit.ly/3Nw2Vxd. This Brushed Nickel finish will match our Brushed Nickel finish in other collections of ours. Thank you for choosing Kohler.

Q:What is a tailpiece? Is this what stops up the drain and lets you unstop drain? Does it use a lift rod?
by|Mar 19, 2022

Answer This Question
A: Hi Mary, this is Lisa with Kohler Co. I am glad to respond to your inquiry. The tail piece is in reference to the drain body. The drain body or tailpiece is what connects to the home's P-Trap for the completion of the drain installation. This model has a lift rod drain paired with it. There is a decorative lift rod on the back side of the spout that activates the stopper in the sink. Thank you for choosing Kohler.

A: I like the higher sprout height (don’t need to bend down for a tall person) with low arc curve (less water splashing) and controls by one handle (don’t need to turn two handles for hot and cold water.) It is good for 1 or 3 holes (my old one used 3 holes.) It is not much of water saving since it is 1.2 GPM and the aerator is not in standard size. I did a few search online and found the right size one with 0.5 GPM spray aerator for under $4. However, every online stores charge $12 for shipping. After a few phone call and found a local plumber suppler who was willing to order and ship an aerator to their local store for in person pickup. I just wish Kohler use standard size aerator because I got one from PSEG that has 3 setting (0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 GPM aerator and found it very useful for daily use and quick adjust by turning the knob for cleaning)

Q:I bought this faucet at Home Depot, and just finished installing it. All went well until instruction #8. It says "Remove the aerator" and "Flush the Lines". That's all it says ......nothing more. Do you unscrew it? If so, what tool should be used? No tool came with this faucet. A different model Kohler faucet, which I installed last month, came with a tool and instructions about how to use it, and it worked fine. That tool does not work on this model faucet. Please tell me how to remove this aerator, and with what tool. Thank you.

A: I could not remove the aerator. It is half the height of a normal aerator. You can use a rubber strap tool or maybe a pair of Channel Locks with a small piece of sheet rubber (like that used to open jars).

A: Hi GatorGuy, my name is Sarah with Kohler Co. I am glad to answer your question. The aerator on this faucet unscrews by hand, turning counter clockwise. We suggest using a rubber glove to gain more friction to help you unscrew the aerator. Thank you for choosing KOHLER.

A: I was able to unscrew the aerator with my fingers with no tool. I just pushed up slightly and it unsrewed easily. If that does not work try one of those rubber jar lid grips.
