A:  Hi Mary, this is Lisa with Kohler Co. I am glad to respond to your inquiry. The tail piece is in reference to the drain body. The drain body or tailpiece is what connects to the home's P-Trap for the completion of the drain installation. This model has a lift rod drain paired with it. There is a decorative lift rod on the back side of the spout that activates the stopper in the sink. Thank you for choosing Kohler.

A:  I like the higher sprout height (don’t need to bend down for a tall person) with low arc curve (less water splashing) and controls by one handle (don’t need to turn two handles for hot and cold water.) It is good for 1 or 3 holes (my old one used 3 holes.) It is not much of water saving since it is 1.2 GPM and the aerator is not in standard size. I did a few search online and found the right size one with 0.5 GPM spray aerator for under $4. However, every online stores charge $12 for shipping. After a few phone call and found a local plumber suppler who was willing to order and ship an aerator to their local store for in person pickup. I just wish Kohler use standard size aerator because I got one from PSEG that has 3 setting (0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 GPM aerator and found it very useful for daily use and quick adjust by turning the knob for cleaning)

A:  Hello Peter, my name is Tiffany with Kohler Co. I am happy to answer the question about the Forte faucet. The handle will lift approximate 3/4". With the handle open the approximate height is 9 1/4". Thank you for choosing KOHLER.

A:  In the closed position, the very tip top of the lever is 8 3/8" (excluding the base plate, see below). In the open position, the very tip top of the lever is 9 1/4" (excluding the base plate, see below). Note: We did not use the base plate (we had our faucet mounted directly onto the granite counter top).

A:  The height increases from closed to open by approx 1 inch; closed 9 inches, open 10 inches.

A:  It is 9.75 inches with the faucet on full from the base to the top of the handle.

A:  9 1/4 inches.

A:  Measuring from where the water dispenses to the lever top is 6 1/2 inches.

A:  I could not remove the aerator. It is half the height of a normal aerator. You can use a rubber strap tool or maybe a pair of Channel Locks with a small piece of sheet rubber (like that used to open jars).

A:  Hi GatorGuy, my name is Sarah with Kohler Co. I am glad to answer your question. The aerator on this faucet unscrews by hand, turning counter clockwise. We suggest using a rubber glove to gain more friction to help you unscrew the aerator. Thank you for choosing KOHLER.

A:  I was able to unscrew the aerator with my fingers with no tool. I just pushed up slightly and it unsrewed easily. If that does not work try one of those rubber jar lid grips.

A:  I used a crescent wrench with the jaws padded with electrical tape.
