A: Thank you for allowing us to assist you today. This window is manufactured as a Left-Hinge (operating sash pivots/hinges on the left side) Casement as viewed from the exterior of a structure it is installed in. This window is made to be installed only this way as the sill of the window is manufactured with drain or “weep” holes designed to move accumulated water that gets into the window sill back outside where it belongs. Additionally, the hardware installed allows it to only function as a casement window not an awning. We do offer awning windows that are hinged at the top or head of the window and open from the bottom. Many awnings are already on HomeDepot.com and more are available through the special order program in Home Depot stores. If you are interested, please visit your local Home Depot and allow a sales associate to help you with quoting or ordering what you desire.

Q:Does this window fulfill the IBC bedroom egress requirements of 5.7 Square feet?
I would like an IBC compliant window for bedroom egress. I have a dog house dormer that is 43" wide, and rough opening of 28" wide by 36" long.
I need to replace these two windows and comply with the egress requirements without re-framing the dormers.
