This v2500 sliding vinyl window as offered on www.homedepot.com is supplied with a certification: US National-AAMA PG35; Design Pressure Rating (DP Rating) of DP+35/-35. Design pressure rating is a measure of a products capacity to withstand both negative and positive wind-load pressure, while the window is closed and locked. For areas exposed to high hurricane force winds, we would not recommend this window. Please consult your local building codes for what DP Rating is required in the area you are planning to use a new window. We do offer products similar to this window that feature higher DP Ratings (as well as other options) through the special order catalog program.         A:  Thank you for a good question. As I compare this v2500 brown exterior window (sku 205817784) to the equivalent v2500 white exterior/interior window (sku205817786) the only difference is in the exterior applied color. The brown exterior window is more expensive as the process to paint the exterior requires more material and labor to build the product.
