Q:It says 30" high, since it has a board (area that the drawer fits in) under the top of the table I'm not sure of its width measurement, trying to find out if a filing cabinet that is 28" high fit under it

Answer This Question
A: I measured underneath the drawer board, and it's about 25 1/2 to 26". So a 28" tall filing cabinet would NOT fit under this writing desk/table. Also, the table is 36" wide on top, but there is only 29 1/2" between the table legs, so there might not be room for a file cabinet and your legs. Maybe a different table from International Concepts would work better for you?

A: I doubt it's low VOC because this desk has a bad chemical smell and a label indicating it contains formaldehyde.

A: This is a pretty sturdy table. I would think it would support something up to 200 lbs easily, but haven't tested it.

Q:I can't tell from the diagram for attaching the legs to the table: do the two flat washers go on first one after the other, then the 3 spring washers, then the hexagon nut?

A: No, the desk is made, I believe, in Vietnam, out of Rubberwood. I've owned this desk for a couple of years now, and I would purchase it again in a heart beat...

Q:How do you get the white plastic covers off of the leg screws? I am not sure why they are on there in the first place, except to make what should be a very simple assembly frustrating. They don't seem to budge.

A: My partner was able to remove the protective covers, but it was hard to get them off. A pair of needle nose pliers maybe?

Q:I bought this desk, and boy does it smell strong and bad! The whole house smells bad and it's been a few days of leaving windows open (in the cold). I see a few others had this issue - did some people not? Is is just with some of the desks? Did the smell go away? Thank you kindly.

A: Yep, it stinks big time! I bet it's the formaldehyde and other VOCs. I'm returning mine.
