Q:Will your 59 x 80 " door work for an 60 x 80" opening?

Answer This Question
A: Phyllis, It would work theoretically but you would have an extra 1/2" on each side. If your finished opening is 60", then you should be ordering the 60" model. Thank you.

Q:The vertical measurement in the rough opening in my installation is 96" but the carpet and padding take up an inch at the bottom. I see that you don't recommend trimming but what about cutting an inch or so off the bottom so it will clear the carpet?

A: 2020mh, I wouldn't cut the width since its a finished edge and not necessary since its a slider but you can cut the height and would be cheaper option than a custom door. Just make sure whomever does it is skilled and has the right tools. You will need to remove, cut, replace the hardware on the top edges. You will also need to cut down the track any good hacksaw or a metal blade on a power saw will do the job. Thank you

Q:I’m putting down new laminate flooring in the bedroom and closet. Should the hardwood saddle attach directly to the subfloor or to the laminate?
by|Jan 29, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Jeremy, Since laminates "float" it would be best if you didnt get all the way down to the sub-floor. The slight shifting wont affect the door but if you do catch the subfloor it could cause your flooring to check or split since it wont be able to float freely anymore. I hope this helps.
