A:  There is no technical reason why you can't do that - but why would you? I assume it is temporary till you can get all led lamps. By the way, I have three of these fan units and they all have worked perfectly since I purchased them.

A:  I purchased a remote at the same time as the fan, it was way too difficult to install. You basically had to assemble the fan, put the fan up and then take the fan down to incorporate the remote and then put it up again. That just seemed like nonsense. Based on the reviews of how often the remotes don't work, I decided to just return it.

A:  This fan did not come with a remote. I have no ceiling fans with remotes. The fans does work very well though.

A:  Yes, make sure you get a contoone that will work with halogen and incandescent lights. I made the mistake to but a Lutron wall controller that was for a ceiling fan, bit the lights were LED type.
