Q:Can this door be installed into existing tracks (top and bottom) - standard tracks from old metal bi fold doors? Maybe someone tried to do that? Thanks

Answer This Question

A:  I tried to use the old rails, but to me the door was sloppy looking and didn't close properly. I used the new rails, and the fit was much better.

A:  Top might work although I used the new track that was included. The bottom has a short corner bracket not a full track so that will need to be attached for the doors to swing open properly.

Q:Can I have the door knob on the right side?

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes, you can center the knobs on either side depending upon the way you want the door to open. The door folds, so it depends upon which way you want the door to bend. If you are using 2 doors for a closet, then you probably want the doors to fold out vs. folding in towards the clothes. In that case you want the doors to open towards each side leaving a space in the center. The knobs can then be put on the two sections that meet in the middle. If you are using a single door, then it depends upon which way you want the door to open -- again, to fold out -- to open to the left, you want the knob on the right side, and opening to the right, you want the knob on the left side. Once you have the door(s) and figure out how you want the door(s) to open, it will be quite clear where the knob(s) should be. We have double doors on two areas opening off a hallway, so we chose to have those doors folding in so the hallway is not obstructed by either door. It adds a special look to the rooms, saves a lot of space by not having those large doors and gives off a more open feeling. I hope you are happy with your choice.

Q:I opened the box and tried to install but the top track is not included. There is no existing track for this door (a conventional three-hinge door was there previously). This is advertised as having the hardware for installation; is the top track supposed to be included? If so then can you ship one to me? Thanks.

        Answer This Question

A:  There is only one track which is to be used on the top. For the bottom, there should be one metal piece--a metal guide for the floor (one for each door, as pictured above) to put the bottom of the door in to allow you to move/set the door in the guide so it won't hit the side of the molding or wall where it is being installed.

A:  Approximately 42-1/2 inches. Love our doors -- hope you do, also.

A:  The middle of the door knob just barely over 42-1/2 inches from the top of the door. There is usually a spot on the door for where they suggest putting the knob -- there are no holes drilled, so you are free to move a bit up or down as you prefer.

              Answer This Question

A:  The knob is placed on the panel opposite the pivot points on the door. Depending on left or right opening you can put the knob on either side of that panel. There is a single adjustable bottom pin.
