      A:  Hello, No it cannot be flush mounted. It comes with a 4.5" DR. THX

        A:  The fan came with a 4.5 inch rod but based on the installation I do not believe it can be installed flush to the ceiling.

              A:  You can use the Hampton Bay Remote (4 button, Off/Low/Med/High) with this fan- it's the same frequency. You have to adjust the dip-switches to match what is set in the fan obviously. See here: https://www.homedepot.com/p/202783102

I suggest you use both the new controls as we are not sure if its the handheld or the receiver in the canopy. The agent will be able to help with shipping options as well. THX
