A:  Hi, Yes, comes with battery (you'll want to buy extra batteries). easy to replace. The do has a plug that needs to be plugged into a wall. You can also buy a back up battery (in case you lose power). once the door is installed, plugged in and the collar is on the dog, you are good to go. Note: you should test the battery in the collar about once a week to make sure its still good (very easy, just push the black button and the red light will shine), if it doesn't shine bright or blinks, time to change battery.

A:  Hi, I'm not sure what you are asking, if the battery is not already in the device, open the device using a flathead screwdriver or butter knive on the side/bottom there are little slots. then insert battery. If the battery is already in there, then pull out the plastic piece usually a tab to activate the battery. that's it, there is no syncing. Press the little black button, if the red light, lights up, you are good to go.

A:  The battery is good for approximately 3 months, there is a test switch on the collar to see if battery is still good. The ultrasonic detector on the door is very discriminating and will not open the door unless the animal is on approach to go through the door. There is a control to adjust the sensitivity of the receptor for the inside and the outside receivers.

A:  The battery life depends upon how much use. For my Boston terrier it lasts about 3 months. As far as your question regarding the dog staying open. The door will close but as soon as your dog moves their head it will open again. My dog will lay close to the door and it goes up and down and up and down. I just move the collar to a different part of her neck where the sensor doesn’t read it and it stops

A:  You'll need to change the collar battery when your dog goes up to the door & it won't open.

A:  Hi, you will notice the door not opening as quickly as usual. and if you push the button, the red light won't come on. It depends how you set the range on the opener. I have mine set so my dog has to be standing right in front of the door for it to open. the door is programmed to close once it doesn't sense the animal in the door.
