A:  Steve, Henry 887 TropiCool has a fairly high tensile strength, however it is subject to tears if it is walked on except for regular maintenance or if a product like drainage tiles is applied to the surface. The movement of the roof caused by the normal expansion and contraction due to temperature changes could eventually cause the Henry 887 to be damaged. This type of application could also not be warrantied.

A:  Paul, you could do that but you may not be satisfied with the results. Our advice would be to scrape out the caulking that is cracked and patch the areas with Henry 884 TropiCool 100% Silicone roof repair and seam sealant prior to coating the roof. You should always address the potential problem areas and repair them before applying a coating.

A:  Rick, Henry 887 TropiCool can be applied to polycarbonate panels. However, you must be very careful with the application since it is very easy to step through the panels, so use extra caution when doing the application.

A:  Steve, you do not need to use a primer with Henry 887 TropiCool 100% Silicone Roof Coating in most cases. That being said, we can't categorically say that Henry 887 will stick to every single kind of roof that is made. Some metal roofs are treated at the factory with oils or plastic coatings. What we can say is that usually Henry 887 will adhere to aged metal roofs, fiberglass roofs, cement roofs, roll roofing, torch down roofs, concrete roofs, previously coated roofs, RV, trailer and mobile home roofs. Doing an adhesion test is not a requirement but a precaution just like the instructions for most cleaning products suggest, which is to test it on a small area to see if it interacts with it.

A:  Sunny, to create anti-slip areas when you are coating with Henry 887 TropiCool 100% Silicone you can broadcast ceramic granules to the point of rejection to the 887 while it is wet. Once it is dry then you can vacuum up the excess granules.

A:  Paul, unfortunately Henry 887 TropiCool 100% Silicone is too thick to be applied with a "paint" sprayer. In order to spray Henry 887 you would need a commercial spray rig capable of producing a minimum of 3,500 PSI at the spray gun tip. The pump should have a minimum of 3 gallons per minute output and be fed by a 5:1 transfer pump. The spray gun should be a high pressure (5,000 PSI) with a reverse-a-clean spray tip. You would need to have hoses dedicated to only spraying silicone. Unless you plan on spraying very large roofs consistently you would be better off rolling on the product.
