      Q:Coverage when Applying with roller
      by|Mar 23, 2024
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Fred, Henry 208 Wet Patch is a very thick trowel grade patching product for specific holes, splits, cracks, seams and for any roof penetrations. Henry 208 is not meant to be used as a coating and would not spread well if a roller were used. The coverage of a gallon of Henry 208 is 12 square feet if applied at 1/8" thick.

A:  Michael, although we have not tested Henry 208 for your kind of project, we would have to say that the joist tape would probably not adhere to the Henry 208.

Q:Can you apply this to a plastic polycarbonate roof and does it have to be cleaned first?
            by|Feb 29, 2024
            1 Answer
            Answer This Question

A:  John, Henry 208 is an asphaltic base in a solvent system. Henry 208 would not be compatible with plastic. You could use Henry 900 Construction adhesive and flashing sealant or Henry 884 TropiCool 100% Silicone sealant for your project. As in most things you will need to make sure that the surface is clean and free of debris in order to get a good bond.

Q:What's the difference between this and the rubberized version?
              by|Feb 8, 2024
              1 Answer
              Answer This Question

A:  John84, the main difference between Henry 208 and 208R is the fiber content. Henry 208 contains cellulose fibers whereas Henry 208R contains rubber fibers. The rubber fiber gives the 208R a better ability to expand and contract with the thermal changes that take place on your roof. Henry 208 can be used at 20 degrees and 208R can be used at 0 degrees. Henry 208 has a 7 year warranty and 208R has a 10 year warranty.

Q:Will it work on a silicone coated roof

                Answer This Question

A:  Edm 1, we do not recommend the use of any solvent based leak stoppers on a silicone coated roof. To repair leaks on a silicone coated roof you can use Henry 885 100% Silicone Seam and Repair Roof Sealant. It is always a good idea to do a few test areas to check the adhesion of the roof sealant prior to use.
