Q:What would adhere better to a wall parged with a 2 part resin epoxy, Henry 101 or Henry 787? Would both work as intended?
      by|Apr 25, 2024
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Jose, not sure if the solvents in the Henry 101 would damage the epoxy since I don’t believe we’ve ever tested the 101 with this interface. As far as the Henry 107 or 787, I don’t think it would hurt the epoxy, but may not adhere to it. We would recommend an adhesion test with the Henry 107 or 787 emulsions.

Q:Why would I use this instead of Henry 787 to water proof- damp proof leaking sub-grade cinder block foundation?
        by|Apr 21, 2024
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Joe, Henry 101 Non-Fibered Black Foundation Coating is a solvent based system that can be used in colder conditions than water-based systems like Henry 787. Henry 101 can be applied in temperatures as low as 40 degrees whereas Henry 787 would require at least 50 degrees and above, day and night, for at least 24 hours to cure properly. Henry 101 is used for damp-proofing and Henry 787 is used for waterproofing and damp-proofing. In addition, Henry 101 contains petroleum distillate and is restricted in some states because of VOC requirements.

Q:Can I lay down #15 felt between coats
          by|Apr 3, 2024
          1 Answer
          Answer This Question

A:  We would not recommend that application. Henry 101 Non-Fibered Foundation Coating is a solvent system with fairly aggressive solvents that would probably emulsify the #15 felt paper.

Q:Can I apply a self adhesive membrane on top of the Henry's101 product?
              by|Mar 24, 2024
              1 Answer
              Answer This Question

A:  Overkill, we have not tested how Henry 101 will react to having a self adhesive membrane applied to it. We do know that you can paint over it with a water based paint once the Henry 101 has had the opportunity to cure for at least a week in warm weather. Henry 101 is a liquid non-fibrated asphalt in a solvent system that cures to a shiny black slick surface.

Q:Can it be used to patch asphalt driveway?
                by|Mar 22, 2024
                1 Answer
                Answer This Question

A:  Brett, you should NOT use Henry 101 Non-Fibered Black Foundation Coating to coat an asphalt driveway. Doing so might cause the driveway asphalt to emulsify over time since Henry 101 is a solvent based system. You can use Henry 532 Driveway Asphalt Resurfacer. Henry 532 is an easy stir gel formula that is rubberized for long life and durability. It is fast drying, reduces tracking, fills and seals rough surfaces and cracks and offers a 7 year warranty. Henry 532 can be special ordered through the pro desk at all Home Depots.
