            A:  I seriously doubt it because you would be affecting the light sensor, and there is no telling what that would do to the device. Besides, it is not that bright and so why would you want to do that? Just put in a lower wattage bulb if it is too bright for you.

                A:  Mine is round, but it does not matter. Either will do. Just adapt the metal strips that hold the light in place.

                  A:  It is a type of acrylic or plastic, and yes, it will probably disintegrate over many years. Until then, enjoy it.

                        A:  It claims to be "rubbed bronze," but I think that is only the finish. It is probably made of aluminum or pot metal. It is quite sturdy, though.

                          A:  That would depend on the wattage of your bulb, doesn't it? The bulb I bought gives off 800 lumens.
