A: I seriously doubt it because you would be affecting the light sensor, and there is no telling what that would do to the device. Besides, it is not that bright and so why would you want to do that? Just put in a lower wattage bulb if it is too bright for you.

A: It claims to be "rubbed bronze," but I think that is only the finish. It is probably made of aluminum or pot metal. It is quite sturdy, though.

A: That would depend on the wattage of your bulb, doesn't it? The bulb I bought gives off 800 lumens.
