    A:  Thank you for your question. Yes, the light is dimmable via the remote. To dim the lights, press and hold the light button. Release the button once the desired level of brightness is achieved.

      A:  Thank you for your question. The light shade can be removed to change the bulbs. The fan can not be installed without the light kit. The light kit design is integrated with the motor housing and the fan does not have the option to be installed without the light kit.

            Q:What is the PN on the receiver for this fan? Mine stopped working, I've tried multiple remotes since we have several of these and I just matched the pin settings and same result. I can control the fan speed but it no longer will turn the light off, it stays on constantly. I need to know the receiver PN so I can order a replacement.

                Q:How do you remove the globe to change the bulbs? Also where is the switch to reverse the blade direction? Not sure if this is the exact fan I have, but if not it's close. I bought the unit prior to remote controls coming with the fan, but the look is identical.

                A:  Turn the globe counter clockwise. Reverse is on the remote. The button just under the word REVERSE!

                A:  Just twist the globe off and the switch is right on the exterior of the fan near the blades.

                  A:  Thank you for your question. The light shade for the Maxwell fan is removed by unscrewing it from the light kit. The light shade has a twist and lock system. To remove it, gently press up on the glass an twist counterclockwise to unscrew it. This fan's direction is controlled by the remote control, there is no reverse switch. It sounds as though you have a different fan. This fan has always included a remote control. Typically the reverse switch is located either just above the light kit or at the top of the fan. For more information, please call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) and one of the team members will be able to identify your fan and offer further assistance.

                    A:  The globe goes on by screwing it clockwise. Reverse that and it should come off. Be sure to line the marks up correctly for re-installation, though. See the instructions.

                      A:  @Hampton Bay Expert Thank you! And you're right that this isn't an HB fan. I'm a bit too short to read the label on the pull chain tag, but what you described did the trick. Thank you so much. I now have a room with a WHOLE lot more light in it. :)
