A: The poles all look alike at first glance, but four have the inside etching to receive the screw and the others don't.
A: I think they are a tight fit but they should be able to put together. Return if if not satisfied. Maybe a friend or the store can help. Its not the first time I bought something and couldnt put it together, or get it to work. Then someone else got it to work lol.

A: As far as I know, these were never meant to be motion activated. Ours have always just turned on when it gets dark and last as long as they last which is usually into the wee hours of the morning. We are very happy with ours.
A: I’ve had my lights 8 of them, for a couple of years and have not experienced that with any of my lights. Sorry I don’t have any kind of solution other than to advise you to get in touch with the manufacturer. Maybe they can help.
A: No, we have had ours for 3 years now, and have not experienced any problems. Sorry we couldn't be of more help.
A: Sorry to hear that you are having this issue. The problem may be a dirty solar panel. If something is blocking the photo-eye sensor which would cause the lights to stay on. Please clean the top of the lights to ensure that the photo-eye sensor is not covered or blocked. If the problem persists, please call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) and one of the team members will help to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
A: The light is 6 inches across at the widest point, and 7 inches tall from the tip to the top of the light, with a 3 inch wire hanging loop. Hope this helps
A: They are as big as a coffe cup plate. Probably about 8 inches in height. Gives off excellent light (bright) because of the facet design. Would buy again.
A: I am not too good about measurements. I think about 2 feet at the most. We have had them for 2 years now, and love them! Even on those days that are not especially sunny the solar energy seems to be enough from previous days to light the lantern. Great investment, and it does light the walk way to our porch.
A: They are almost 8" tall (not including the handle), and 7" wide across the top. We live on the coast and have had them for almost a year and they are still working great. The housing looks metal, but is a durable plastic that holds up great in the sun and salt air.
A: Thank you for your question. The lantern measures 6" wide x 5.5" tall.
A: Thank you for your question. The lens is plastic, the "hammered glass" description refers to the texture of the lens.
A: Mine are not glass, but thick plastic. And I am very happy with the purchase.
A: Not glass. Very durable
A: The lenses are plastic in a hammered finish. This is the first year for us, although I bought them in recommendation of a friend. She purchased them last year and has no complaint. We made a street lamp out of them. They are perfect.
A: Sorry but the lens are plastic.
A: They are plastic.
A: they are a heavy clear plastic and do not look like plastic. you do not want them to have glass. I dropped one and broke an led wire loose. resoldered the wire and it lights my yard from dusk till dawn just like the other 7 that I did not drop. if it had been glass I would not have been that lucky to salvage it. I have them on 5 foot tall polls with electric ties to protect them from high winds - so I get more light out of them and they stay lit even in bad weather from dusk till dawn for the full week that I have had them up
A: Yes the lenses are glass and very heavily made and mega beautiful
A: Sorry but they are plastic. But they do look nice. I have 2 sets in my backyard. One is about a year old and out in all kinds of weather, except hurricanes. Yeah the older set is turning a slight bit yellow but the lights are still bright at night.
A: The lenses are thick plastic, but do not be concerned about yellowing. I also own a several year old set of similar Hampton Bay solar lights. The lenses have not yellowed and 3 of 4 lights are still working after replacing batteries.
A: Thank you for your question. These lights are not sold individually, but you may be able to order 1 light as a replacement item by calling Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678).
A: No, they only come in sets of four.
A: NO, I DON'T BELIEVE SO...I LOVE THESE & HAVE MULTIPLES OF 4 THROUGHOUT MY PROPERTY
A: I’ve purchased additional units and partial units from the manufacturer
A: Nope. They don’t come in singles.
A: I don’t believe that they come in a single pack. But if you google shepherd landscape lights you might be able to find something. Home Depot does have some that are 2 pack lights.
A: No, you have to buy a four pack.
A: They’ll last overnight usually
A: Mr Engineer....who knows how long they stay at 80%brightness? How do you measure that? They are still at 1 a.m. although not very bright. As for batteries....I yse whatever is sold normally ar the store. I love the look of them so much I gave 6 sets of them.
A: 10 hours. And yes
A: They stay lit all night long.
A: I have 8 of them - they even charge and dark rain weather and stay light from dusk till dawn. I put them all on 5 foot tall decorative polls so I get more light from them. they light my driveway all my gardens, fire pit area and my back door all night long and look beautiful while doing it. !!! they are worth the money and then some. I tied them down to their hooks with electrical ties in case of high winds I don't want to lose one. I even dropped one and broke a wire to the led - resoldered the wire and it works as well as the other 7 lights - Mine are somehow able to charge in black cloudy heavy rain weather and still light up my gardens bright all night long to dawn. LOL these lights do their job well
A: Depending on how much sunlight they get during the day they last 6 - 8 hours after dark. Not sure about the Lithium battery; we have had the lanterns for over a year and have not had to change the battery out yet. Hope that helps!
A: I'm sorry I don't know about the batteries, we have had them for over a year and have not had to change the batteries.
A: Thank you for your question. These lights include AA 600mAh batteries, so AA batteries are the only size that can be used. You can use up to 1000mAh batteries, but they must be AA size. The lights will shine at > 80% for about 6 hours on a full charge.
A: I can be up to 8 hours......I live these think I'm going to buy another set
A: Thank you for your question. The recommended spacing is 4-6 feet.
A: Mine worked very well at 10 feet apart
A: We put them about 5 feet apart.
A: There is no recommended spacing as far as I know. I have mine spaced approximately 7 feet apart along both sides of a walkway. 3 on each side.
A: You can space any distance you like because there are no cords. We have ours spaced about 8 Ft. from one another.
A: I have 8 of them I have most of them spaced 8 feet apart but because I put them on 5 foot tall decorative polls through out my gardens and path ways I can light up a single area with them - they are brighter than the average solar light and height will give them a better charge and light up a greater perimeter
A: I don’t know what is recommended but we have ours about 5 feet apart lining our front walk. If you were looking for very bright light these are not. Each lamp gives a beautiful circle of scalloped light, A gentle, dappled light that makes for a beautiful walk. There is plenty of light to see the pathway without being harsh and blinding. We are very happy with these lights and bought a couple extra cases to be able to trade them out over the years if they break. The first set of replaceable solar charging batteries that they came with them lasted more than a year.
A: There is no recommended spacing. What ever you like.
A: Our project was vertical. The four shepherd books were at different heights and four different directiins.
A: 3’ apart maybe depending upon your path. If you want light for safety closet, if just as an accent maybe 4-5”. These are good but not super bright
A: Actually I bought my lights over a year ago. I did have a problem, but Home Depot was excellent about correcting the problem. I am very happy with this product, and they add just the perfect touch to front walk to the door. I would call Home Depot and ask how they want to handle this problem for you.
A: I would first try to change the battery & if still no luck contact the Hampton Bay company....I did have a problem with one rod as well.....believe it or not it looks lovely in my garden @ the lower level ...or take the lantern itself & hang on a tree branch...although that works best in the winter time.....last resort would be returning all
A: At first I thought that some of the rods did not work together and then realized that the rods go together only one way. One of the rods is missing threads as it goes at one of the ends. I don’t know if they will accept just one back. Did you try just replacing the batteries?
A: Thank you for your question. Please call customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678). One of our team members will be able to assist with replacement parts. There is no need to return the whole set.
A: You would have to return the whole set in exchange for a new set they do not replace single items from a set. Call your local store since some return/exchange policies can vary.
A: Yes, they are very attractive. But to your question, they are powered by a rechargeable battery that is in the head of the unit by the lamp. These batteries are good for only so many recharge cycles so my experience is to replace the battery. Make sure it is a solar rechargeable battery. That should do it. From what I have observed, the lamp is part of the solar unit. I have never seen a replacement bulb, which makes me think that they don't exist. In which case, if it were the bulb it would require buying a new light.
A: I replaced the batteries. I think the bulb is a light or not light deal.
A: Thank you for your question. We're glad to hear that you like the lights. We would suggest replacing the batteries. That should solve the issue. If not, please call customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) and one of our team members will help troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
A: Replace the batteries with the same type of rechargeable batteries 600 mAh Ni-Mh, rechargable batteries.
A: Replace the batteries and make sure the photocell are clean as that is where the energy to run the lights is coming from.
A: I leave mine out year-round. With the shorter days, they do not give light for as long as in the summer. But I don't think they experience a whole lot different aging whether I leave them out or in an unheated shed. I really can't say whether they would last significantly longer if stored in a garage or cellar during the winter.
A: Thank you for your question. Yes, these lights can be left out year-round, but please note that if exposed to snow, the solar panel may not charge the batteries if the panel is covered by snow.
A: Yes. Ours have done fine after a winter of snow, wind, sleet, heavy rain and hot temps.
A: Yes but it cannot charge if it is covered in snow
A: I have but they will not run as long as the time and amount of energy that they are charging is reduced.
