Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. The fan is compatible with any 3/4" diameter (inner diameter) downrod up to 48 inches in length. We would suggest a downrod like model # 99298.

    Answer This Question

A:  Fans are measured blade tip to blade tip-outside to outside, each single blade will be approximately half fan size rated.

Q:I do not have a receiver and do not have a light kit - I only have the fan and want to hardwire this fan to work directly from the wall switch. Is this possible and, if so, which wires (black, blue, white) should I use when wiring into my ceiling box?

        Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. If connecting to a switch, you will need to cut the wire harness plug from the fan wires. Once that is cut off, you will have 3 separate wires: Black (fan speed power), blue (light power), and white (neutral). If you do not have a light kit, you can just cap off the fan's blue wire using a wire nut and electrical tape. Then, you would connect the fan's white wire to house white wire and the fan's black wire to the house switch wire.

            Answer This Question

A:  We are sorry to hear that you are having this issue. Each remote and receiver pair needs to be set to a unique dip switch setting to ensure that each remote only controls the intended fan. The dip switches are located in the battery compartment of the remote and on the receiver. This is shown in detail on page 9 of the manual. The dip switches can be set to any unique setting of up or down as long as the settings in the remote match the settings on the receiver.

Q:I currently have a wall switch that has two sections, a fan dimmer and a light dimmer. I noticed a slip of paper in the packaging said not to use the fan with these switch types. Is it okay to use it if I leave the dimmer switches at max all the time?

              Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. The only acceptable switch option for use with this fan is a standard on/off toggle style switch. Connecting the remote receiver to a dimmer style switch (even if left on max) will eventually damage the receiver. The fan could be installed without the remote receiver and wired directly to the switches. To wire the fan directly to switches, you will need to cut the wire harness plug from the fan wires. Once the wire harness plug is cut off, you will have 3 separate wires: Black (fan speed power), blue (light power), white (neutral). Please note that if using a switch for speed control, the switch must be a variable speed switch, not a dimmer style.

                Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. The smart hub acts as a translator between Google and Alexa devices to add smart functionality to your fan like voice control, scheduling, and control via an app on your smart phone or tablet.

A:  Thank you for your question. No, the fan can be installed without the light kit. Please note that you will need to call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) to order a blank switch cap. The switch cap is the piece that will cover where the light kit would attach.

A:  There are 3 screws connecting the light assembly to the fan motor assembly. Fairly simple and I had no problems with the light assembly.

                        A:  yes

                        by|May 25, 2023

A:  Thank you for your question. No, there are not instructions for wiring directly to switches. The fan includes a remote control and the included instructions are for installing the fan with the remote. Installing with wall controls would require altering the wiring. To connect to switches, you would need to cut the wire harness plug from the fan wires. Then, you would have 3 separate wires: black (fan speed power), blue (light power) and white (neutral).
