A:  I have this in my bedroom suite. It does not put out a large amount of light, the lights do have an automatic dimmer built in. It's a beautiful light and fan. I'm not sure it would give off enough light for a large room unless you have table lamps to go along with it. The fan blades could be painted before you put it all together if you wanted but they are beautiful just as they come

A:  Hello, Because of the Art Glass it does not give off a tremendous amount of light. Please take into consideration that a fan is not meant to be the main producer of light in a room. A fan is made to accent the room with light. THX

A:  Hello, You cannot use an existing dimmer as it is meant to control only the brightness of a light fixture. Home Depot does carry aftermarket wall controls that will control the fan speed and light separately allowing you to choose the speed and brightness of your light. THX

A:  Hello, Yes you can use this fan with a wall control. You will need to ensure that the wall controls has the feature that allows you to control not only the up light but down light as well separately.

A:  Hello, The fan comes with 54" of lead wire. This means you can use up to a 48" DR without having to add additional wire. IF you need longer then 48" DR HD does offer a ceiling fan extension wiring kit that will allow you to have up to a 96" RD. THX

A:  Yes you can...it comes with over 3' of wire pigtails.

A:  Hello, You will find the light for the top at your local HD. They are considered night lights for the top of the fan. You can use any candelabra base for the lower light kit.
