A: That is why we bought it last year, but It did not make it through the winter. This was the first winter it was up and it became brittle in the cold and when it snowed it collapsed. So NO DO NOT USE on a Greenhouse. I could send photos of what it did if needed.

A: Had holes throughout the tarp making it useless for what I needed it for
by|Dec 24, 2020
A: Yes - we bought this to use to cover our two greenhouses in the winter - and if you roll it up and put it away in the summer, it lasts for more than one winter (we live in a southern state with no snow). As I said, We have two greenhouses - one small and one large - this roll has enough to cover both with some leftover.

A: I use mine for a backyard hockey rink liner (great liner) but i think this is the right material for a greenhouse
by|Jan 23, 2019
A: This product is not recommended for greenhouse applications. It is not manufactured with UV inhibitors so the film will degrade if left exposed for an extended period of time. A specialty greenhouse film will be required for this application.

Q:We may have to drain our inground swimming pool (see picture), due to some cracks causing leaks. In addition, no one uses the pool anymore. So if the pool is empty, can this sheeting be used as a semi-permanent cover to keep out rain? (We're in San Diego and it hardly ever rains here, anyway.)

A: We used it on our Green House so it is waterproof, and Snowproof, but it does sweat so condensation will build up underneath it anyway. You would also have to unfold it as it comes folded in 4's and rolled up just as picture shows.
by|May 6, 2023
A: I wouldn't recommend it. It's only 6 mil so it is easily cut or punctured. Any critters that walked on it would probably fall through too.

A: 6 mil
by|Apr 9, 2021
A: 6 mill is thicker and therefore stronger ... last a little longer because the UV gets the upper layer first.

A: Any thing you can do to stop air drafts is good but this alone will probably make little difference with insulating

A: Depends on climate, building use, other materials in the wall assembly, and many other factors. There's a high probability that it would cause more problems (interstitial condensation, mold, etc.) than it would solve. Contact a Building Envelope Consultant, engineer, or informed Architect.

A: To add to another answer.... The sheeting is said to be clear. but due to the fact that it is 6 mil, light will come though it. but, the over all appearance will make the plastic look white. just understand that the thick mil will make the plastic a milky translucent .

A: Plastic sheeting may act as a cover for a green house to help contain heat in for a cold season, but it is not made to insulate the interior of buildings. While, yes, it could possibly act as an air barrier between the steel, and the plastic, it would not be really efficient. If used as a barrier, it might help to prevent prevent moisture leaks from a not well sealed steel shell building. And it would help prevent dust from coming in the cracks of the exterior building walls. Ask yourself how you plan to make sure the plastic sheeting will stay attached to the steel structure. Double sided wide tape might be part of the answer..but remember, across the ceiling area, the weight of the sheeting is heavy and will pull away from the tape. it would be best to consult with an insulation specialist before trying to go cheap. They make garage door interior insulation that has special attachments to hold it to the surface. One side of the surface is tough plastic coating. Think far ahead...or one morning every thing you have taken time to do will just be hanging down on the interior.
