A:  NO. but it can be removed and dirt shaken out by striking it on the ground OUTSIDE only. I usually get 6 months out of my filters, but I have no pets.

A:  I've used the garden hose to rinse mine for many years and just now do I think I might need to replace it. Just make sure you let it dry out completely.

A:  I wouldn't wash it because I think it's made of fiber.

A:  Hi Denise81052! We recommend brushing the dirt and debris off any HEPA cartridge filter. If the filter is rinsed then air dried for 24 hours there is no guarantee the internal pleats are completely dry and will not serve it's purpose afterwards. Hope this helps! -Giselle, Hoover Customer Care
