Answer This Question
A: I let it acclimate 5 weeks & it still shrunk
by|May 5, 2023
A: Acclimation time varies depending on geographical area, interior climate control and time of the year. Acclimation is deturmined by Equilibrium Moisture Content (EMC). Harwood flooring must acclimate for as long as necessary to reach the EMC. EMC is reached when the moisture content of flooring is in equilibrium with its environment (when the wood is neither gaining nor losing moisture) or when the dimensions of the planks have stabilized.
Acclimation temperature range is 60°F-80°F and relative humidity (RH) of 35%-55%. The conditions in which the floor was acclimated should be maintained continuously thereafter.
