Q:What is puncture rating for hdx 6 mil plastic, ANSI or other
by|Jul 18, 2023

Answer This Question
A: Puncture, as can be measured by ASTM D4833, is not performed on construction film. The industry relies instead on dart impact values performed via ASTM D1709 for which the 6mil spec value is 260 grams. A: Yes.
Very thick and durable.
I used it under my garage floor over the stone, walked all over it installing insulation and heat tubing with out any issues or tearing.

A: I think this product would be perfect for a ground barrier under your home. It has the mil thickness and strength to handle that task. However, if you’re laying it over rocky or possibly a gravel surface, I would limit the access to anyone crawling over the plastic after installation.

Answer This Question
A: This product is construction-grade clear made with a blend of recycled plastic, which gives the film some variation in color. Therefore, it's not crystal clear, but translucent ("milky") enough for light to pass through. Please contact your local Home Depot store for further assistance.

A: It's more opaque than clear. We use this product to wrap the arbor in the winter and turn it into a greenhouse.
