Q:Can I use this product with "Paste the wall" wallpaper and roll into onto the wall and then hang my wallpaper?

Answer This Question

A:  Yes but it is not that tacky so if wallpaper is rolled it tends to bow away from wall. Squeegee is a must over and over

A:  Yes you can that's the only way I hang wall paper. Make sure your surface is good and flat with no holes or other blemishes and it goes on like a dream.

A:  i wouldn't use that on any heavy paper such as vinyl. instead use a heavy-duty vinyl paste

A:  It works on all wallpapers with paper backing. If your wallpaper completely vinyl, no paper on the back side, use white PVA glue (sold everywhere from Home Depot (big jars) to dollar store (little bottles).

Q:Will this work in a bathroom? I’m worried about the steam from the shower loosening it

              Answer This Question

A:  Yes, you can use this adhesive with the wallpaper in your bathroom.

              by|May 5, 2023

A:  That's always a concern, and there is no easy answer without seeing the bathroom in question. What I look for before doing a bathroom is if there is good ventilation (ceiling fan/vent). I will also use a paint brush and put a coat of paste around all the corners and edges, this will make a better barrier for moister getting behind the paper and causing mold and loosening the paper.

                by|Aug 20, 2019

A:  Yes, steam will loosen it. How about PVA white glue instead...

                by|May 5, 2023

A:  Don’t recommend use stronger adhesive

                by|May 5, 2023

A:  Yes it will work, but your bathroom should have an exhaust fan.

Q:Want to use 11 oz tightly woven White Burlap on Entry wall as wall paper and then paint it the color I want, would this product allow me to use the burlap as if it was wallpaper?

                  Answer This Question

A:  Yes you should be able to use it. I would recommend rolling the paste onto the wall first and then putting the burlap on the wall, because you are not as worried about the burlap expanding like paper or vinyl wallpapers do. Also you wont get any paste on the surface of the burlap, which is tuff to clean off. Due to the weight of burlap (heavier than wallpaper) I would not thin the paste with water to make it easier to roll.

                  by|Aug 20, 2019

A:  Probably. It's just a liquid paste. It has minimal "slip" to it, though, so you wouldn't be able to reposition your burlap easily unless you really used a lot or maybe thinned it with water or something. You say that the burlap is tightly woven, if it's tight enough to behave like a heavy paper I think this adhesive would work just fine.

A:  I just put it in my nursery and no smell. We are only 18 weeks so I’m sure any vocs will be gone by then.

                    by|May 5, 2023

A:  Its basically starch with some additives, you can cook your own to make sure it safe - take some starch and lot of water and cook it, you'll get pot of wallpaper glue in about 10 min.

                      by|May 5, 2023

A:  Any chemical you can google the SDS sheet on it if you are concerned. The SDS sheet will have detailed information as far as ppe. It has no smell and does not need ventilation while installing, it is basically a paste.

A:  Roll it on with a paint roller and cover just a little more than the width of your wall paper, then apply your wallpaper. Sometimes I will apply the paste to the back of the wallpaper as well instead of pasting the wall

A:  I paste the wall and wallpaper

                      by|Mar 21, 2019

A:  The lack of clarity in the answers is because you did not specify if your wallpaper is "paste the paper" or "paste the wall" type. You must simply follow the instructions on your product in order to do this correctly.

A:  You put the paste on the wallpaper, the you do what is know as booking. Booking is after you have brushed the paste on the back side of the wall paper you fold it over glue side to glue side. Fold from one end to the middle, then the other end to the middle. This will give you a very even distribution of paste on the paper. Thank you for shopping at The Home Depot. Charlotte of the Home Depot Community.

A:  Yes. Just make sure you install them immediately after you put glue on... some wallpapers become very stretchable when wet.

A:  Hmm, depends on where you applying and to what surface. It will not stick to some surfaces... Take proper trowel and push glue to the surface to make it stick and make layer like half inch, then move trowel tooth side to remove excessive mortar and make lines for mortar to expand when you will lay a tile. Or just use premixed mortar in cans , because pre-mixed one more sticky and even for folks who never use it before its easy to work with.

A:  Roll in on with a paint roller, just put on a thin coat. You don't want it thick but just enough to cover the whole area. If its too thick when you apply your wall paper you will have to push it all out. I use a 3/8 nap roller
