A:  On the wallpaper . After application fold the wallpaper in a way that the glue won’t touch the front of the wallpaper , let it rest for 10 minutes. The wallpaper will expand a little so the waiting time in necessary specially on wallpaper where you need to match the pattern . Good luck :)

          Answer This Question

A:  Yes , your walls need to be primed and or painted.

          by|Nov 8, 2022

A:  I would not put this up on plain, unprimed drywall only because it will be a nightmare to remove the wallpaper in the future. A coat of water-based primer should be sufficient to provide a uniform base for the glue

A:  Hello Terry, GH-34 Paste for Unpasted Wallpaper is formulated for use with delicate wallcoverings like grasscloth, stringcloths, and English pulp paper. It dries clear and is non-staining. Be sure to check your wallpaper manufacture's hanging instructions for specific adhesive recommendations.

A:  You use it straight out of the container.

                by|Aug 8, 2019

A:  It is a very thick paste that smooths on easily if surface is clean, dry and prepared per instructions. I used it for strippable wallpaper, and when it was time to remove the wallpaper for renovations, it easily came off.

A:  I don't know. It might work, because it is not a drippy wet water-based paste. But from experience, I don't recommend applying paper on top of paper. The existing paper could loosen and/or bubble. Any print or color might bleed through.

A:  I used this to wallpaper over the pre-wallpapered walls in a trailer home—the walls had a slight texture to them but because I wasn't able to remove the paper, the only way to change the look was to paint (still showing the texture) or wallpaper. It worked beautifully. That said, if you can, I'd ALWAYS recommend removing the original wallpaper first. You never know how it was applied, and it will just make it harder down the road to remove it if you have multiple layers.

A:  I didn't size first. had satin paint on the wall to be papered. Worked fine. FYI make sure paint color on wall and wallpaper are similar in color. If wallpaper is not hung properly, you can experience gaps between panels and you don't want them to show.

A:  The problem with doing that is when you get to a new piece of wallpaper—your brush will likely push the glue on the front of the paper already applied, which may discolor it. You could probably get away with brushing the paste on the wall over most of the area where the next piece of paper will go, and then applying the paste to the paper along the edge, but honestly this entire process is just going to be messy and you just need to embrace it.

A:  You can, but it will be hard to spread it all the way to the edge without getting some on the front of wallpaper that's already put up. You should be working in sections—you wouldn't paste your entire wall and then put up the paper, because it will start to dry and your paper won't stick as well. Even though it's awkward, it's best to measure one piece, paste the back on a flat surface, hang that on the wall, and then move to the next piece. That way you have full coverage on each piece of wallpaper, and each piece is cut to fit the next section as you go along.
