A:  Hello, You would actually keep the existing panels and t-grid. You would cut off the 1/2" perimeter of our panels with scissors and then glue the panels to the existing panels. (Take them out and glue them - let them sit for at least 6 hours before replacing back in the grid.) This is a great way to reface your old tiles and make them look new again!

A:  I installed this a a faux tin 12 foot ceiling in our Victorian home. Remember it is plastic (or some such material). I would not put it where a high heat source could warp it. By the way, it is SO easy to install and people who visit us think its tin!

A:  Hello, We don't recommend using them near a wood stove as the heat can cause them to deform. I would suggest using real metal for this application. On furring strips with airflow behind it. There are tutorials online.

A:  Mine is behind my stove and is fine.

A:  If it is a stand-alone stove you won't have issues. If it is a slide in stove, we recommend at least 12 inches for gas and 18 inches for electric. Generally people will use an accent piece of tile or something decorative behind the stove and use this as a backsplash for the rest of the area.

A:  If you are using spray paint, that works great! Otherwise we recommend a high quality all in one paint and prime.

A:  Hello, No, it needs a solid backer (1/4" white painted plywood, sheetrock, etc.) in order to install properly. The panels overlap helping to hide the seams, and they need a solid backer for this.

A:  To insure proper adhesion on our kitchen ceiling we used Loctite Power Grab Heavy Duty Adhesive. We've had no problem with any tiles loosening or falling off. It's been well over a year and it still looks great. Also was fairly easy to install.
