Answer This Question
A: Sure. However, they are not self adhesive. So as long as the tiles can be secured, be it by nails/screws or construction adhesive, they can cover pretty much any surface.

Q:I would appreciate another opinion on whether this product can be used on popcorn ceilings??????

Answer This Question
A: Hello,
This can successfully be used gluing up over popcorn ceilings. We do recommend putting a fresh layer of primer on the ceiling first to allow the glue a new surface to easily stick to if the ceiling hasn't been painted in several years. As long as you use the recommended power grab by loctite, and follow the instructions provided with the panels - you'll have a great looking ceiling by the end of your project!

Q:does ceiling have to be smooth surface? can be put on over stucco style?

Answer This Question
A: I installed over a plaster ceiling originally built in 1934. My ceiling was not as flat as a drywall ceiling and the overlay did fine. I suppose your case depends on how pronounced your stucco is or maybe I should say it depends on how deep the grooves are in your stucco. You may need to use a thicker application of adhesive to compensate for the stucco's uneven surface.

A: Yes - because you're using Powergrab by Loctite - you can glue them over a slightly textured ceiling. We recommend that you prime this first so the glue has a clean layer to stick to. This makes installation much easier. It can also be installed over popcorn ceilings!

Q:what size is each square? Will this work to cut it 16"
by|Sep 14, 2018

Answer This Question
A: The sheet is 2 feet across with 4 squares across. 2 feet divided by 4 is 6 inches per square.
You can cut it to any size you need, it is just a thin sheet of plastic. At 16 inches you will be cutting through a square, not on an even edge of one if that is what you are asking.
by|Jul 21, 2020
A: Each square is 6" so you wouldn't have a full square if cutting to 16". It would still work though, or you could center it and cut on both sides to get even patterns at the end.

Q:Can these tiles be used around and under a woodstove?
by|Nov 16, 2017
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hello,
No - they're plastic and the high heat from a wood stove could cause them to deform. I would recommend utilizing real metal for this application. I'd recommend taking it one step further, mount on wood furring strips creating airspace behind the panels. This will help protect your wall. Keep in mind if painting - you will need to use a high temperature paint.

A: There are instructions but they don't mention that one of the long ends is a bit longer than the other end and if you turn them around it can throw the pattern off a bit.

A: It's possible by using a vertical or high strength bond tile mastic or thin-set mortar, but it's better in the long run to have them installed over some sheet of tile backerboard or plywood.
This means each tile can look flush and reduces chances of some not looking flush or even.

Q:Can this be glued to 1" x 3" furring strips?

Answer This Question
A: Hello,
No they need a solid surface to adhere to. You can put up white primed plywood or drywall (doesn't need to be finished - just primed) and then glue these panels directly to that.
