Q:I need a product that adds little or no resistance to door opening, but ensures that the door closes slowly and softly. Does this product allow for those 2 different requirements to opening and closing?

A: well you can keep it open like with every door by using a door wedge at the bottom of the door and floor, you can always disconnect the arm or
with my door i use it on my deck gate ,i have a hook on the wall behind the door and use a bungee cord that i connect from the hook to the door handle
as far as i know this door closer model dose not have a hold open Cush-n-stop arm feature .
so if you want a door closer that can be kept open you need to get one with the. hold open Cush-n-stop arm.

A: Unforunately, I do not recognize that part number with our global door controls closers. If you were to take measurements of the CTC pattern and call our customer service line, we would be more than happy to help you find a hole-for-hole replacement if we have one! Our number is 1.800.256.7377

Q:I need to know the measurements between holes, both length wise and width wise? They need to be the same as the old one that is no longer working.

A: That's not going to happen unless you buy the same door closer. This one has a wide variety of install measurements, plates and bracketry. What you use depends on the application, weather it opens inward or outward, weather it's mounted to the door or the threshold in general, left or right side of the threshold or door, ect.... This closer isn't exactly the easiest install. I'd try to find the same closer if you're someone who doesn't do much work like this. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Q:My business door currently swings both ways (active swinging) and the closer is wearing out where it does not close the door properly anymore. I interested in adding this closer but wondering if this closer will make the door open to the inside of the shop only or can it be mounted that the door is open outward as well.

A: That first line is funny. Sound's like it started out as a closet door :)

A: This closer would not do the trick for your double-swinging door. What would in fact work extremely well is an overhead concealed closer. This is made specifically for double swinging doors and is made for heavy traffic doors! Our TC7000 Door Closer may be perfect for what you are needing.

A: It mounts flush on either the door or threshold. The body of the closer is covered by a shroud to hide the mounting screws.

A: I'm afraid I am not 100% sure the question; if you would like a template for instructions or to show the functionality of the closer you can contact our customer service at customerservice@impusa.com , or here is a link to an image which i think accurately represents how one of our closers would look mounted to a door. Hopefully this is of some help to you!
