A: Hello LC, They are the same threads.
by|Jun 18, 2020
A: I got the brushed nickel and it had standard threads, I cannot speak for the chrome one but would assume it’s the same. Wouldn’t imagine they would be different.

A: It has standard 'shower size' threads on each end, i.e. one end screws into the female end of your shower plumbing where the original shower arm was, and the other end receives any showerhead sold at Home Depot or the one you already have. DN.

Q:What is the weight limit?

Answer This Question
A: Hi Kate,
There is not recorded weight limit for the shower arm as it is not a common test performed.
by|May 5, 2023
A: The weight limit will be based on the plumbing you have behind the wall. Most bathrooms use copper tubing to plumb the water. If that is the case, you might bend the tubing if the load is too heavy. If you are using a heavier duty pipe like galvanized you would be better off. Still, it is highly recommended to install a 90° Elbow with a mounting flange that is typically nailed or screwed to a stud adjacent to the shower head hole.
To clarify, if you look in the hole with a flashlight and examine the female fitting that you thread the S-pipe into, try to see if the fitting is a large brass one that is secured to something or just a copper tube elbow with a pipe clamp bracket. If it is the first one i mentioned, check to see if the fitting is secure or moves around. If there is any movement, i would secure it to a stud first. If it is the second possibility i mentioned, i would not use this item unless i first replaced the fitting with a brass elbow with mounting flange.

A: We've used this arm with several types of shower heads, including a hand held shower head. I don't know if there's a specific weight limit though.
by|May 5, 2023
A: I don't know a weight limit. It is a solid attachment and is as strong/stronger than the main pipe it's attached to. I can pull down on it with great force and it doesn't give at all. Hope that helps.
by|May 5, 2023
A: I don’t believe there is an actual weight limit... the weight limit would be however strong your pipes in the wall are. It’s a solid steel S pipe. Unless you are putting a 50lb cinderblock on the end of it, I doubt any shower head is heavy enough to bend it.
