A:  Thank you for your interest in our products! Our Icon Relief Lay-In Ceiling Panels can be cut to accommodate canned lights or lighting fixtures. However, due to their thin PVC material make up, we suggest the light be supported by or anchored to an additional substrate and not rely on the tile solely for installation purposes. A:  That is the exact installation I did. These tiles look great and the heat above isn't enough to cause any issues.

A:  Yes, it can be installed in a basement ceiling.

If the temperature they are exposed to does not hit that threshold, then there should be no issues during installation. A:  Any recessed light will work. Since I only had a 3.5 inch gap above and the light needs to be in the center of the tile, we used super low profile 6" LED's

A:  Simple math. Each tile covers 4 sq. ft.. You may need to add tiles for cutting.

A:  Any recessed light works. To mount a surface light, some backing material would be required.

A:  Hello and thank you for your interest in our products. Use a skill saw or RotoZip to cut to odd sizes and a hole-saw or RotoZip for sprinkler heads or can lights. The tile can be trimmed with a utility knife. You may also use a metal angle ruler, score it and snap the tile. We do not recommend having the entire weight of the light fixture rest solely on the ceiling panel, we would recommend having them attached to a floor joist or more solid substrate. A:  The Genesis Icon Relief White Ceiling Tile system does not hide the tile grid.

A:  no they lay in the grid but the grid blends right in. Looks great
