Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in our products! Typical drop systems are installed 4-6 inches below the joists. We also carry a surface mount ceiling grid that drops 1 1/8" that our tiles can be installed into, called CeilingMAX. If you have any additional questions please feel free to reach out 800.434.3750. Thank you!

Q:Can these panels be installed on a solid ceiling, not drop ceiling. My plan is to put plywood on the ceiling studs then secure panels to the plywood, however I'm not sure of the best way.

A:  Thank you for your interest in our Genesis Icon Relief Lay In Vinyl White Ceiling Panels! No, our Genesis panels are designed and manufactured to lay into a grid system, not to be directly mounted to any substrate. If you are looking for a direct mount tile, please feel free to browse our Fasade panel line. We have many similar styles available in direct apply tiles in both gloss and matte white for that type of installation. If you have any additional questions, please feel free tor each out to our customer care team at 800.434.3750. Thanks again!

A:  I wouldn’t. Not really made to be decorative tiles like that. They have small bumps on some edges that cover with the grid system. You could use a vinyl glue to try to adhere them but Im sure there is the right decorative tile you’re looking for out there.

A:  I would not recommend a drop ceiling of any kind in a bathroom with a shower. Moisture trapped above the ceiling would be a potential mold problem.

              by|Jan 23, 2020

A:  Yes you can install in bathroom with shower. But make sure you have a really good fan for ventilation! Also make sure the fan is vented properly. If not the grid work for the tile will rust and the tiles themselves will most likely discolor.AMC
