This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy! - NOTE: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. - We found three models that we think your parents will like! In fact, all of our 30" Spacemaker over-the-range microwaves are designed to be installed in the same standard upper cabinet space (30" min. width, 12" min.-13" max. depth, 66" min. mounting height). The height and depth of the models may vary slightly, but any of our new models could work in your current space. You will need to use the mounting brackets and hardware that come with the new microwave as they kits have changed over the years and are not interchangeable. I hope this helps! Spacemaker Microwave Ovens may be vented using an equivalent total of 140 feet of rigid 3 1/4" X 10" rectangular or rigid 6" round any direction, horizontally or vertically. Due to cosmetic differences between the models, the height and depth of the models may vary slightly. You will need to use the mounting brackets and hardware that come with the new microwave. A:  Hello Grant, Thank you for your interest in the GE Profile Spacemaker 1.9 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave in White Model # PVM1970DRWW. Yes, this is a comparable replacement microwave. There are many current model microwaves that will fit into a 30" wide installation space. The model numbers will begin with the letters CVM, PVM, PNM, JVM1, JVM2 , or JNM. None of the installation kits are totally interchangeable. GE recommends to use the new mounting system and hardware that comes with the specific microwave. There are vent duct, cord cut-out location and mounting screw location changes for these models. Model Pvm1970DRWW is a beautifiul microwave! Donna with GE
