Q:For "Love It" Question. The PROBE will go below 170 degrees using options / probe, The OVEN won't. It only goes to low of 170 degrees. My question is once probes beeper goes off how do you turn it off? Even if I remove the probe it still beeps! I had to turn off oven to stop the beeping sound. Nothing in the owners manual talks about that.

A:  Hi there, thanks for your question! When using the Temperature Probe, there are two temperatures that you will set. You will initially set your oven temp (which can't be set below 170 degrees). Once the oven has reached your desired temp, you would then carefully plug the probe into the oven cavity, then into the food. The oven will then prompt you to set the desired internal temperature of the food you are cooking. The beeping is to alert you that the internal temp has been reached. So, to stop this beeping, you would turn the oven off. We hope this is helpful! Stay safe and happy cooking. -Michael@GEA

A:  Hi Jan - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE Model # JK5500DFBB! The range has an audible preheat signal that signals at about 5-7 minutes. The oven is not at the set temperature; however, the oven is hot enough to add most items that require a pre-heated oven. The display will not change until the oven temperature, sensed by the oven sensor (located in the back of the oven), is 100 degrees F or greater. On many models, once the set temperature is reached, the oven will beep and the display will change to the set temperature. If the oven does not heat up at all, check the power and make sure the wall oven is getting 240V. The display will operate at 120V but will not heat. Reset the home circuit breaker by turning off and back on again. A technician may be required for an accurate diagnosis.
