A:  The best way to cut length from the threshold is to use a hacksaw. The same if you are wanting to remove width, only it will be much more difficult cutting 36" the lenght of product.

      Q:I'm looking at the 36" x 3" x 1/2" aluminum saddle threshold, however I see in Specifications there is a Depth of 3". What is Depth?

      A:  This is 3" deep.

        A:  The 3 inches is the width across the threshold. the length is from long end to end.

          A:  I think it was 1 1/4 " but I had to add a wooden strip shim under the sill to bring it up to the bottom of the door seal but it worked out.
