A:  All FORMUFIT products follow Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) rules, which is a dimensionless term where the size (1/2 in., etc) refers to the general size of the inner diameter of the pipe. Since our products are only designed for PVC pipe, most metal pipe products use a completely different sizing model and will not work. We apologize that this product did not work for you, but the size, per the specifications is correct.

A:  The top segment is about 1/8" thick and should hold up to any drilling of fastening. Hope this helps.

A:  For furniture making and other non-plumbing uses, it can provide a tight fit when an application of PVC bonding glue accompanies that kind of fit. However, there are PVC fittings in Home Depot's plumbing section that'll do the job, if plumbing is the desired application.

A:  No, they are not. They are designed to be removable.

A:  It is designed for furniture. You should probably buy one with a decent rating for fluid use. As I don't think it would leak under very light use conditions, I don't think I would trust it like I would one with the proper rating.

A:  I drill through these caps all of the time. Just drill a starter hole first and it will be fine.

A:  You will find that drilling small starter holes through this cap is better than not. Depending on the screws, drilling will avoid cracking the PVC. I should note that although this cap is strong and well made, constant contact with the ground or other surface, like at the end of a cane or walker, will ultimately crack the cap when weakened by drilling holes in the end. However, if the right size of wood is used, this cap can have a tight fit that usually secures the cap very well.

A:  One screw will be plenty, pre-drilling will prevent distortion of the cap. Mike

A:  I have a 1 1/2" OD pipe tubing that needs a 1 1/2" ID pipe Cap to cover the end of the pipe. It is for a patio swing that has open pipe tubing on both ends. Will this product fit over a piece of 1 1/2" pipe tubing? What is the inside diameter of your 1 1/2" End cap?

A:  It is the same as 1 1/2 inch plastic pipe 1.990 inches
