Answer This Question

A:  Hello. You would want a photoelectric alarm in that location. If your alarms are hardwired Kidde alarms then this alarm would be appropriate for that location.

    Q:Is it compatible with 120-10728

    Answer This Question

A:  Hello. The ADC 120-1072B hasn't been made since 2008 and only had a 10 year lifespan. There is no alarm that is compatible with it anymore. There is no direct replacement for your alarms. That being said, you can use any of our current alarms to replace your older alarms. You will have to take down all of the older alarms before putting up any new alarms. You will have to change out the mounting brackets at each location but that will just take a screwdriver to change out. You will either have to change out and rewire the wiring harness plugs at each location or you can choose to use the KA-F2 adaptors to adapt the old plugs to our new alarms. The adaptors would plug into the old plugs and the new alarms would plug into the adaptors. The model for the adaptor pack is the 21028461 which includes the KA-F2 and the KA-B2 for some of the older BRK/First Alert plugs.

A:  Hello. No, the battery in the alarm is only a backup and we can't guarantee the backup battery will last 6 months to a year. The unit also will not be able to interconnect to other alarms without being wired into a a 3 wire circuit for communication.

          Answer This Question

A:  No, but we haven't made the ADC since 2008 and per code, smoke alarms only have a 10 year lifespan per the NFPA and UL standards. You will want to replace all of your alarms. There is no direct replacement for your alarms. That being said, you can use any of our current alarms to replace your older alarms. You will have to take down all of the older alarms before putting up any new alarms. Q:Is this a suitable replacement for Firex model# FXW-1A
            by|Jul 17, 2023
            1 Answer
            Answer This Question

A:  Hello. There is no product that "replaces" the FireX FXW-1A. The FXW-1A is a special alarm that uses 120 volts AC over its interconnect line, unlike most smoke alarms that use DC power for interconnection, so this alarm is not compatible with any other alarm, Kidde or Firex, and no other alarm uses the same mounting bracket and wiring harness. If you put this alarm into the same circuit as any other alarm, this alarm will damage the other alarm. You will have to change out all of the alarms, change all of the wiring harnesses and mounting brackets, and you will need to take down all of the old alarms before putting up any new alarms.

A:  Hello. The battery compartment is on the back of the alarm. You have to rotate the alarm off of the bracket. The alarm will be hanging from the plug. Squeeze either side of the plug and pull and the battery door is under where the plug plugged in.
