Q:is this safe to use on a wooden deck

A: Because of the V shape heat is somewhat deflected. I actually have been using mine on a plastic fold out table for now until we set the yard up. It hasn't made it hot at all. To be safe, if you are worried about starting a fire, I wouldn't fill it to the max with charcoal and I would place thick tin foil or a metal cookie sheet underneath. Then make sure you're monitoring it at all times. I think the biggest danger would be charcoal spilling out of the grill onto the wooden surface.

A: We will recommend to use a grill mat underneath to prevent any damage to the wooden deck.

Q:Is it possible or safe to use indoor in kitchen?

A: It would give off carbon monoxide. If you have a fireplace, and opened the flu all the way, you could cook in the fireplace. The flu would have to stay open all night long because the coals would still be 'lit' inside. Have a carbon monoxide alarm as well.
NOT SAFE in the kitchen under a fan.

A: No, it is for use outside in a well ventilated area. The bottom gets extremely hot and needs to be on a surface that is heat resistant. The same precautions used for charcoal grills should be used for this one, also.
