A:  The grip stays pretty true, but there are not designed to be wet so your hands will be wet as well.

Q:I looking to get these gloves for my 11 year old son. Will the small fit kids? What are the measurements, finger length and hand width of the gloves?

A:  sure they will fit but best if you go to the store to personally fit. Also try the women's glove for him. Same color just a slightly tighter fit.

A:  I am a petite woman (5'2") and the small size fit my hands. Depending on the size of your 11 year old, he may be able to wear the smalls. The price is reasonable enough to buy a pair just to see the fit.

A:  My hand measures 7" around the knuckles. Index finger of the S glove is 2-7/8". The Small glove is comfortably snug for me, well-fitted to my hand with no excess material, though the fingers are a fraction longer than I'd prefer. The back of the glove is a knit material so there is enough stretch for flexing.

A:  Dear Julie: First I love these gloves and have worn out three pair already, in the last four or five years. Now to measurements. 1.From the base of the thumb to the tip 4"...outside measurements...from the outside base of the thumb not the palm side....about 1 inch above the wrist joint. 2. Fingers: See the grey stripe on the top side of the glove.....That is where the knuckles should be. From the mid-knuckle (top of the glove) to the tip 4 and 1/4 inches (give or take a smidge)at the middle finger.. 3. Wrap around the knuckle (grey strip) area 7" 4. The fold over at the wrist fits me just fine and I have a small hand. The glove fits very snug at first but will give a bit over time. I use it to mow, garden, rake, shovel dig...you name it. AND It's SOOOO hard for me to find a glove In SMALL. Thank heavens for these. Incidentally, I notice the Mgf. has improved the tip of the glove. It used to be just fabric but now I see in the new ones I bought recently, the leather goes from the palm OVER the tip to give added strength and wear. Say, if your son likes yard work, I have 5 acres that could keep him happy. Regards, The East Texas Dowager

A:  The gloves were great for my 11 year old grandson. We did some heavy work with them and they held up.

              Q:Is this pair cut resistant?

              Answer This Question

A:  No, not from knives or the like--- but they do protect from small dings like working with metal siding also they do last a long time

              by|Feb 17, 2017

A:  I basically use these for yard work...tree trimming, raking, hauling bags of mulch and on the mower handles..etc. So I can't comment on them being cut resistant. However, I notice Home Depot does have cut resistant gloves in the glove section...they appear to have a "chain mail" like consistency. Check them out.

              by|Apr 18, 2017

A:  No, I would get a pair of gloves designed for that. They protect your hands from general cuts but if your working with glass I would get gloves designed for it.

              by|May 4, 2023

A:  Not really. The leather they are made out of is very soft. They will keep you from getting blisters or splinters... but I wouldn't recommend them if you are going to run a utility knife across them.

A:  I don't think so. Resistant maybe....I use them basically for yard work..tree trimming, raking, hauling bags of mulch etc.

A:  I didn't use them for hotlights. But I did grab a potato that was roasting in the fire with them.

A:  I never handled hot lights with these gloves but they are thick and high quality.

A:  They should work pretty well if your not holding the lights for long periods of time. Hope this helps!

A:  Never used them that way, so I can't comment on that. I would guess they could be used BRIEFLY with hot lights but not for an extended period of time. Hope this helps.

A:  I have changed hot light bulbs with these. However I wouldn't weld with them.

A:  They would be just fine for unscrewing warm lightbulbs. I wouldn't suggest that you hold the lightbulb too long though. Perhaps you might turn the light off for a few moments prior to attempting to change it.

A:  Maggie: I've never used them for that purpose. I would think they would be good for a few minutes but not for continuous hot light handling. I use mine mainly for yard work and on the big mower. If you are "on set"...those lights get really hot. I would suggest a pair of really heavy leather gloves of cow hide or pigskin...like the truck drivers use....but tough to find in a smaller size...get a pair of soft cotton gloves to wear inside the heavy gloves, as added protection. I use the soft cotton gloves inside my heavy leather gloves in the winter for yard work. ...keeps my hands warmer. good luck.
