Q:What amp breaker does the 206PI take and what size compressor will the 206PI work with?
        by|Jun 23, 2017
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  25 amps breaker should do it. technically, you might even get away with 20 amps. but if you want to be cautious, and cover all bases, just in case, then 30 amps would be it. as far as plasma prerequisites, recommended air pressure is 65-75 psi, and recommended compressor capacity is 5 CFM @ 90 psi / 30 gallon tank.

Q:can this weld DC 6010 electrodes because I'm in welding school and trying to get better
          by|Mar 31, 2017
          1 Answer
          Answer This Question

A:  no, 6010 is a pretty hard rod, and requires quite a power draw. also, the internal components of a very simple, basic, and dedicated 200 amps stick welder, and a complex, 200 amps multi-process unit vary quite significantly. from what i read on pro-welders forums, is that 6010 puts a lot of strain on them. also, this model*s max specs are 200 TIG amps, but only 160 stick amps. i noticed a pattern in all our welders: unless they can handle 200 stick amps or more, they won*t work with 6010. and even though 6010 does not need to use so many amps, it*s like it needs some kind of minimum reserved potential.

Q:Does this welder come with a factory 5 year warranty as the ones on the everlast site? Where would the return be if yes?

              Answer This Question

A:  yes, all everlast welders with IGBT inverter technology come with a 5 year warranty. we cover parts and labor, customer is responsible for shipping charges to send the welder to our repair facilities. we have one on the west coast, in Idaho, and one on the east coast, in Tennessee. However, more common practice is that customers call our tech support, and we can determine over the phone, which parts need to be replaced. then, we can send you the parts, and you can swap them out yourself, while we guide you over the phone, if you have any questions. that way, you don*t have to pay shipping.

                    Q:can it weld aluminum
                    by|Feb 24, 2015

                    Answer This Question

A:  PowerUltra 205P has a DC TIG feature. Cleanest aluminum weld is best achieved with an AC TIG welder, which is available in next model up, PowerPro 164. However, it is possible to Stick weld aluminum, using specific aluminum electrodes, although it is a bit trickier, not as clean, and requires a lot of practice. Thanks.

A:  If you are planning to weld aluminum, don't buy a DC machine. The aluminum welding electrodes that can be used on DC are not meant for projects. They are for quick field repairs where extreme splatter, ugly dirty porous welds, and 6 second burn down times don't matter.

A:  Consumables are torch specific. PowerUltra 205P comes with 26 series TIG torch, and S45 series plasma torch. You can definitely find consumables for both of these torches on Everlast site, or maybe even here, on homedepot site.
