A: For the Everbilt 3-1/2 in. x 5/8 in. Solid Brass Radius Security Door Hinge, you would not remove any caps. The pin itself can be accessed at the end of the pin. There is a hole at the bottom where a nail or hinge pin removal tool can be used to remove the pin.

Answer This Question
A: For the Everbilt 3-1/2 in. Oil-Rubbed Bronze 5/8 in. Radius Security Door Hinges Value Pack (3-Pack), the larger hole on the right side of the hinge in the picture is for a security tab on the left side of hinge that prevents the door from being removed when it is closed, even if the pin has been removed. If you open up the picture you can see its a small tab or if you close the hinge together and look at that larger hole you can see the security tab.

Answer This Question
A: The Everbilt 3-1/2 in. Chrome 5/8 in. Radius Security Door Hinges Value Pack (3-Pack) has removable pins. The “cap” at the bottom of the hinge is not removable. A pin removal tool would go through the hole in the cap at the bottom to punch the pin out. The recommended tool for this application is the Hinge Pin Remover, part number 28630 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-Hinge-Pin-Remover-28630/318058091
