Q:The three responses concerning the horizontal blades are confusing. From the description and the picture, it appears that the horizontal curved blades can be individually adjusted while the inner blades are controlled by the glider. Is this correct? I need to order 2 that can do this and would appreciate a response before I order them.

A:  Hello Mimi, Yes, you are correct. The front horizontal curved blades are all individually adjustable and the back vertical multi-shutter damper blades are all ganged together and their position is controlled by the finger lever on the front face.

A:  Yes, that is correct. Excellent quality and perfect for one way air flow. Had to get one way air flow because my other one was a 3 way air flow register which hit my wire fire alarm and set it off. My vents are in the ceiling but this one I believe can be used on wall or ceiling.

Q:Can each of the horizontal blades be individually controlled? I want to set 3 of them in one direction and the other 2 in opposite direction.

A:  Hello Programmer, No, the horizontal blades that you see in the photos are actually the damper blades that are ganged together so they all move together when the finger lever is moved.

Q:Hi - why would you choose this model (with the horiztonal blades in front) over SKU 334476 which is the same thing but vertical blades in front? This would be for a bedroom on the wall that is very close to the ceiling. Does one offer benefits over the other? Thanks.

A:  The horizontal blades will help deflect the hot air downwards into the room, the vertical blades will just leave the air into the top portion of the room, where it is warmer anyways.

A:  Hello Matt, Please note that this model has individually adjustable curved blades, where as SKU 334476 has just individually adjustable blades. The curved blades will help the air hold against the wall / ceiling, for this reason the curved blades are used more in a ceiling application. Both of these models only have a single row of adjustable blades, the blades that you see behind the front blades are actually the blades of the parallel multi-shutter damper.Since all of the damper blades are parallel, the damper in the mid position would help to direct the airflow. Typically in your application were your have a high sidewall supply location the SKU 334476 is used. The vertical blades can be adjusted to spread of the airflow left to right and in heating mode, the parallel multi-shutter damper could be set in the mid position to help direct the warm supply airflow down into what is known as the occupied space of the room.

A:  Hello Matt, My application conducts cool ducted 2nd floor air down along a wall over the rear intake of a Monitor space heater. I didn't want the cool air to flow to the front outlet side of the heater. Having said all that, I'm not sure I really examined your suggested alternative. Also, of the ones I examined, the adjustment mechanism seemed smoother/longer travel on the one I chose. Of course we don't have well-behaved laminar flow, but a relatively turbulent flow ... so it's all somewhat hit-or-miss, don't you think? Hope that helps ... Bill
