Q:i have a 14' ceiling in my shop. how many sq ft do theses fixtures cover

Answer This Question
A: Hi Jay, just checked on mine for 14 foot ceiling will but up 50-75 foot-candles 6 foot from the fixture but I have my fixates (others are mainly 2 lamp LED's) 8 foot apart for general lighting and have other fixtures directly over areas where I want a lot of light but this one is very close to my table saw and I have a fan on the right side of it and this light on the left edge of fixture over the left side of saw and have 100 foot-candles over the saw. Most offices look for around 100 foot-candles general lighting so 8 foot apart and 4 foot off the wall would give you lots of light, but you don't say length and width of shop and where you want the most light so you will just have to try and see what you like

A: Hi John think you should take one of the bulbs to Home Depot and ask for the same bulb. is a standard LED 4000K "color" 1800 Lumen bulb.

A: They should sell it at your local home depot store. Just ask for T8 LED tube lights 40000K at 1800 lumens. Or you can contact the manufacturer at 1-800-228-6197.

Q:How much heat does this fixture generate? I am considering installing it in an enclosed drop-down box fixture over a kitchen island, replacing a 4 fluorescent fixture.

Answer This Question
A: I do not find this really generates any heat because fluorescent lughts run cool. However, these are listed as high bay lights so the fixture is intended for use in a high ceiling garage or industrial application. The amount of light may be way more than you would need or want in a kitchen with a standard 8 foot ceiling.

Q:Hi.
What sensors can I use with this fixture? I would prefer the type that stays lit at 1/2 power and then goes full when motion is detected.
Thanks
Bill

A: The lights in the fixture are not wired for half to remain on. You would have to rewire the fixture to accomplish what you want to do.

A: I think this would work with a motion detector, but it is not wired such that only half of the lights on the tray would stay on separately. It is wired for all lights in the tray to be on at the same time.

A: Hi Bill you can split wire them best to buy smaller fixtures and switch them on two different switches of breakers and you can but a timer on each circuit. This fixture only draws 3/4 amps you can put 22 fixtures on a 20 circuit for a total of 1188 watts. You would need 1000 watts on per hour on time to even show up on your electric bill

A: Unfortunately, the fixture is not wired to allow half of the tubes to stay powered, but the light tray should work with most any motion sensor.
