    Q:Can regular plumber's putty be used on the sink drain ring, or does it have to be the non-staining kind?

    A:  Thank you for your question on the Elkay ELGU2522PT0 Quartz Classic Single Bowl Undermount Sink. It depends on the drain material you're using. If you are installing a stainless steel drain, we recommend using regular Plumber's Putty. If you are using a polymer drain like our Elkay LKQS35 Polymer 3-1/2" Drain Fitting with Removable Basket Strainer and Rubber Stopper, we recommend using neutral cure silicone caulk/adhesive.

        Q:I think this sink looks beautiful and exactly what I am looking for. However, I've read many reviews that report exceptionally easy staining. Since I intend to buy a white sink, the staining is a pretty big concern for me. Would it behoove me to apply a sealer or special finish to the sink to prevent the staining?

        A:  Hello KCDiva! Thank you for your interest in our Elkay Quartz Classic kitchen sink. This sink is very easy to clean as it is stain and scratch resistant! We do not recommend using any sealer or special finish as it will void your warranty. The best way to prevent stains is by wiping your sink with a Mr. Clean® Magic Eraser® and either water and mild soap or a 50/50 white vinegar and water solution. Towel dry with a cotton cloth. The same can be said for any small mom & pop stores, they don't have the overall sales compared to a big box store, you will get more personalized service with your local store.

              Q:I am ordering new countertops and the sink will be attached prior to installation. The cabinet size is 35 inches wide. Why does it state I need a 36 inch cabinet width minimum?
