Q:Can this product be used on pool decks where you water to pass through it when it rains into the drain system?

Answer This Question
A: The product is a sealer for Chattahoochee stone, which is a very fine almost tiny stone, less than a quarter of an inch in diameter.
The stones, by the 25 lb bag, are mixed with expoy adhesive and applied over fresh concrete with towels only about 3/8th inch thick.
It was very popular in Florida in the 1980's but nowadays no one installs it. This sealer is for maintaining the expoy and does in fact seal the stone surface so that water does not penetrate but will pool and run off.

A: I use this product on textured surface, so I am not sure if this would be pool deck slippery.

A: Anything that adds a glossy or shiny finish will add some slip hazard. Chattahoochee can be fairly rough or very smooth depending on how it was finished. The rougher it is the less slippery the sealer will be. We recommend doing a test area to determine if you will be happy with the results.

Q:Can this be used on real brick floors for a wet look?

Answer This Question
A: The Chattahoochee Sealer is specifically for epoxy set stone. If the bricks are concrete pavers that look like brick then our Paver Sealer would be a good choice, however, acrylic sealers do not work well and would not be recommended for clay bricks.

A: We used this to seal river rock on our lanai and it did give it a shine. River rock is not as porous as brick so It may take several coats. We have also used the Paver Sealer by Eagle on a well made of stone and stucco which left a shine to the stone. This might be the better choice since bricks are porous.

A: I suppose it could be used on real brick floors, but when it dries it is not that glossy or wet looking.

A: Unfortunately, that would not be a good use for the sealer. The sealer has no structural properties.

A: It definitely doesn't stain or discolor. Given what I've seen from its use on stone, I imagine on a clay/stone tile you could expect good results. It might make them a little slippery, but it does go on pretty thin so it should't be too bad . Its a great product and I've used it for years without issue.

Q:Is this product self leveling?
by|Apr 29, 2017

Answer This Question
A: Yes,as it is a very liquid product, not quite like water but not a
syrup like liquid either.
I used a 1/2" nap roller with excellent results.
Note that this product is for the old "river rock" surface
normally found on patios and sidewalks in Florida, thus
the surface is flat so that is it will seep down into the small pebble crevices in addition
to the top of the stones, giving a high gloss finish.

Q:My question is, what specific type rollers have been used with this product?
I've used a 1/4" nap adhesive specific roller from HD and was generally pleased with the results.
The down side was the time it took as with each roll through the tray I had to hold it to let the drips
mostly stop before applying. Curious what others have used that may speed up the process.
I regularly seal my "river rock" patio so am just looking for a top coat to give it some shine.
Many thanks for replies.

I use the thickest rollers I can get.
by|Jan 29, 2019
A: There's an instructional video on the Eagle website that says to use a 1 1/4 inch nap roller for application over stone surfaces. Shorter nap rollers are used over concrete surfaces. See video here:
