A: Yes. Because these terminate and mount at the post. But if you are trying to have these come off the post at a 90 degree angle, then they will not work. They will need to go straight into the post.

A: Paul, our standard top and bottom rail brackets included with the all EZ Handrail kits are the recommend mounting solution into stone columns. With that said, it does take time and skill for an aesthetically pleasing install. The two most commonly methods used are:
1. Attach PVC blocking to the column by removing (cutting out) the stone at the attach points.
2. Grind the stone(s) to provide a flat enough surface for the bracket to mount flush. Then use a masonry bit to slowly pilot fastener holes through the rock and reaching plywood. Install the railing section and mounts using our 1/4" x 4" wood fasteners (purchased through the Home Depot Pro Desk, call us if the Pro Desk needs an item# at 800.248.1520, Dan). Lastly fill any gaps between the back of the bracket and the stone with matching calk.
If either solution will not work for you situation, installing EZ Posts next to the stone columns is aesthetically pleasing as well. See attached photos.
Pivot mounts are used for stair runs and also non 90-degree angles on a deck or patio.
Thank you for your consideration,
Dan (EZ Handrail Dev Team)
