      Answer This Question

A:  I would not use this on a wood stove. Pellet stoves run about 300 degrees but wood burners can run up to 800 degrees. You should use a triple wall pipe.

      by|Dec 31, 2021

A:  That is exactly what this pipe is for

A:  No, this is designed for pellet stoves only. Please contact the wood stove manufacturer for proper venting procedures, practices and required venting.

Q:I have this pipe on my pellet stove. I was under the impression it cold be enclosed , like in a chase way. Can anyone confirm. The install of my stove required the pipe to lean a little and it is driving me crazy. I am re-finishing the walls that create the corner it sits in and wanted to span across the corner in front of the pipe and fresh air vent. this stove is in the basement, the pipe exits the house between the main floor joists. There will be open space, 14" above the stove and approximately 6" clearance from the wood planks I am using for the walls. Definatly don't want to have a fire, but would like to clean up the crooked pipe.

A:  you can take a 90 degree elbow and use this to straighten out your run. Simply twist and turn until the desired change is accomplished. Remember to follow your local building and fire codes in your installation.

A:  As the venting manufacturer, we cannot offer installation information, being that we only test to safety standards set out by UL. All installation questions need to be directed to the appliance manufacturer, they test to install standards, so they would be the authority and have the distances to combustibles. Please contact the appliance manufacturer for proper installation practices for venting. Also, being it is below grade, we suggest that you contact your local code officials for clarification on these types of installations.

A:  I enclosed mine with Hardibacker concrete board. Approximately 1.5 inches from the pipe. Pipe gets a little warm but absolutely no heat comes from the other side of the hardy backer.

A:  The manufacturer does make it in black. Home Depot only carries the galvanized. It is easy to paint with High Temp spray paint in a rattle can. You should be able to find the paint at Home Depot.
