Questions and Answers for DuraVent DuraPlus 6 in. x 14.25 in Square Ceiling Support Box and Trim Collar 24 in. Tall

A:  Usually, depending on the pitch, as it is adjustable.

A:  You just have to maintain the (straight line) clearance between the chimney pipe and the ceiling. In our case, the minimum clearance is 15" (yours may be different). If you mount the box flush to the ceiling, you will only have about 6" clearance. If you just lower the box a couple inches, that (straight line) distance between the pipe wall and ceiling increases dramatically. Having said all that, this box is actually designed for pitched ceilings. It will work for flat ceilings but there are better (cheaper) choices for flat ceilings. See the attached pic.

A:  I have the same question but the description mentions triple wall. The DT-24CS is double wall but Home Depot is not showing lots of normal parts. maybe by special order if you visit a store.

A:  It does include the starter section (coupling) for the triple wall Duravent 6" pipe. I had the same question because the description is not clear. I took a chance and it is part of the assembly.

A:  Yes. They cut my box down on all 4 corners and bent the resulting "flaps" down flat to the roof and nailed them down before adding the flashing and finishing the roofing.

A:  I found that confusing too. The box is 14.25"x14.25". However, the ceiling trim piece is expandable to accommodate a cathedral ceiling slope. Maybe it opens to 18.25". That's the only thing that makes sense to me.

A:  The interior ceiling trim piece (TRIM COLLAR) comes with box.
