Q:Can this Dream Line Unidoor 60" to 61"be used with a 60" alcove shower wall system ? As long, as there are wood wall studs behind alcove system present.

1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The Unidoor requires solid walls for installation and double studs or 2x6 blocking on the side where you are going to install the door glass. If you have a molded acrylic/fiberglass shower surround, you will not be able to install this or any other DreamLine shower door product. If your acrylic walls are the type that glue to backer board, this is fine, but if they are molded panels where a hollow void will be present behind the wall, this will not meet the requirement for installation. Your walls must be solid, at least as tall as the shower door (72"), and there cannot be any type of curve or radius at the bottom where the walls meet the threshold. Q:Is this shower door compatible with the Kohler Bellwether shower pan?
by|Nov 20, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: We cannot 100% guarantee the compatibility of our products with products by another manufacturer. The bottom bracket for this model is the widest piece of hardware and it will require your threshold to be a minimum of 1-1/2" wide to properly secure the bracket. This model also will require you to drill into the shower base and secure this bracket with the provided screw. Please review all of the specifications of this shower door with your contractor and compare them to the specifications of the shower base to ensure they will be compatible. If you have any other questions, we invite you to contact our DreamLine PreSales Consultants at 866-282-8413. We can also be reached by sending an email to support@dreamline.com. Q:Are the shelves optional
by|Jan 28, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The glass shelves must be installed as they are the source of support for the stationary panel. The model number for this door without the glass shelves, but with a support arm, is SHDR-20607210-06. You can place that model number in the Home Depot search field and it will come up for you. If you have any other questions, please contact a DreamLine PreSales Consultant at 866-282-8413. We are available 9am-6pm EST, Monday through Friday and will be happy to help you choose the perfect shower door for your space. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com. Q:can these doors be hung if there is not a stud to fasten to?
by|Oct 3, 2017
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The Unidoor must be installed to studs, per the installation manual. These are appx. 80 lb. panels of glass and it is important that they be installed securely. If you are unsure if you have studs behind your walls or you know you do not have studs, we would recommend the DreamLine Elegance Shower door or the DreamLIne Undioor-X shower door. These doors do not require studs for installation. Without knowing your finished dimensions, it is difficult for me to give you a model number to reference. If you have any other questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm EST and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com.
