A:  This Unidoor model is an exact-fit shower door and we have already accounted for the amount of space the hinges take up. For the 26" Unidoor to fit your space, your finished opening (tile-to-tile) must be exactly 26" (plumb & square). A:  The 24" Unidoor is an exact-fit model, so if you install the 24" model in your opening that is 7/16" wider than the model size, you will have a large gap between the wall and the glass that you will not be able to seal and water could leak out of the shower. For your opening size, you would actually need to have a custom-made Unidoor size. A:  Unfortunately, we do not have a single door style Unidoor product in a stock size that will fit a 24-1/2" opening - the 24" model size will be too small (you will have a gap where water will leak out) and the 25" model size will be too large (the glass would bang into your wall which is not safe). For a 24-1/2" opening, you would need a custom-made Unidoor size. A:  You will have to use the spacers that come with the hinges to shim the door out away from the wall to get this model to fit 30-1/4". Before you order, we do recommend that you double-check your measurements because 30-1/4" would be the absolute maximum. When measuring the width of your finished opening, please measure across the top, middle, and bottom. If any of those measurements exceed the 30-1/4" measurement you are providing, this door will unfortunately not work. A:  There is an L-shaped rigid vinyl strike strip that has very high bond adhesive on one side. This strip will stick to your wall and the door glass will close against this strike vinyl strip. A:  There is a sizeable knob on the interior-facing side of the glass which will be large enough for you to grab to open and/or close the door. A:  This product is not really designed for that type of application, but it could technically be installed in the way you describe. The Unidoor will require wood reinforcement behind your finished walls in the form of double (side-by-side) studs or 2x6" blocking and on top of a tub, the 72" height will create a very large glass presence in your bathroom. The hinges will need to be adjusted a little bit as well so that the door lines up evenly over the threshold and if you're using the door as more of a "shower screen", you will want to be mindful of where the direction of water is spraying/splashing. A:  The Unidoor model series comes with adjustable hinges. The hinges will come pre-set from the factory for outward swing, which is the recommended use, but they can be adjusted to allow for inward swing or for both inward and outward swing. Instructions for adjusting the hinges will be provided in the installation manual. Unfortunately, we do not offer this model without a handle and the glass will come with pre-drilled holes in the glass for installing a handle. You will have visible holes in the glass if you do not install the handle, but you are welcome to leave the handle off the glass if you want to.
