Questions and Answers for DreamLine SlimLine 48 in.x 34 in. Double Threshold Shower Pan Base in White with Left Hand Drain

A:  Yes, this model is available with a left drain, but you will need to change the model number to DLT-1036481 (Home Depot item # 1000720089) to get the left drain. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

A:  It is always best to install the base, put up your backer board, then finish the walls first before selecting a size for a shower enclosure and this is especially true for the Unidoor Plus style that is sold in 1/2" model size increments. For the best fit, you will want to measure your finished space first before ordering a glass enclosure. If you are going to tile the walls, you will probably find that either the 46-1/2" x 34-3/8" size (model # SHEN-24465340) or 46" x 34-3/8" size (model # SHEN-24460340) will be a better fit than the 47" size, but again, we would strongly encourage you to get the space fully prepared (finished) for the shower door first (install base, finish walls, etc.) so you can measure first before ordering a glass shower enclosure. A:  DreamLine SlimLine shower bases accept a standard 2" compression-fitted PVC drain. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

A:  Unfortunately, we do not offer any 48" single threshold shower bases with a left drain and all of the single threshold bases we offer in a 48" size will have a center drain. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

A:  SlimLine shower bases require a bed of sand-mix mortar beneath the shower base for installation. Without the mortar bed, right out of the box, the shower base can hold approximately 250 LBS. Once installed in a bed of mortar and once the mortar cures under the base, it will be rock solid and able to support much more weight. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!

A:  The dimension you are asking about is very slight because the base almost sits flush to the floor near the drain assembly, but if you are asking about this dimension for the purpose of knowing how much to extend your wastepipe above your subfloor, this information is something you must get from whichever drain assembly you purchase. A drain assembly is not included with this shower base. The rough plumbing for your wastepipe should extend above your subfloor a good amount and you will not cut the wastepipe until you have purchased the 2" compression-fitted PVC drain assembly. Drain assembly parts are different from maker to maker and the instructions for cutting your wastepipe to the correct height will be with the drain assembly.
