A:  No - these products are not designed to be nailed or fastened to studs. The shower base will install up against studs in a bed of mortar, but you will not fasten or nail the base to the studs. After the base is installed, you will need to put up 1/2" moisture-resistant backer board around the 3 sides of the base with tile flanges. After the base and backer board are installed, the acrylic walls will need to be trimmed to fit the opening, then glued up to the backer board. The acrylic walls are thin and lightweight by design so that they can be easily trimmed without the use of special tools before they are glued up to the backer board. A:  We do not recommend cutting these panels around a window. There are no instructions provided for doing this, we do not offer any sort of a trim kit for the cut edges, and for this model specifically, there are raised patterns on the panels that will be difficult to cut around. The SlimLine shower base will install up against your studs, then you will put up a moisture-resistant backer board, then the QWALL acrylic walls will adhere to the backer board. Our QWALLS are not "direct-to-stud" and will require a backer board, but the shower base that you install first will go up against the studs. A:  The base is to be installed direct to studs. Next backer board is installed to the top of the tile flange on the shower base, then your walls are adhered to the backer board. The thickness of the acrylic panels is by design, to make it easy to cut to size on site. Once adhered to the backer board, you will have a very safe and secure installation. A:  The panels are not predrilled for plumbing fixtures. You will drill holes in them on site to your specific measurements. A:  Very disappointed with this shower surround. Pieces broken. Took things back 4 times. Called manufacturer in PA and they said it was your fault which I told her it either came from the factory not packed properly or shipper damaged them. Very poor quality.
